EDP Sciences announces the release of the online version of the IUFoST 13^th World Congress of Food and Technology, organized by INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique) and ADRIA (Association pour le Développement et la Recherche dans l’Industrie Agro-alimentaire), and which took place in Nantes, France, from September 17th to September 21st, 2006.

This congress is part of the series of regular IUFoST meetings, the most important events in the activities of food science and technology. Indeed, IUFoST congresses embrace fundamental and applied aspects of major frontiers in food science and are by far the world largest gathering of scientists in this field.

This year, the emphasis of the congress organized under the theme « Food is Live » was placed on new concepts and developments in both basic research and industrial applications. Health considerations, consumer’s behaviours and educational issues were also an important part of the program. Special attention was paid to the issues of African countries.
