Two articles from the EDP Sciences journals EPJ Applied Physics and Mechanics & Industry have been recognised as highly cited papers on Web of Science using data from Essential Science IndicatorsSM. Only the top 1% of articles achieve this status.

Essential Science IndicatorsSM, hosted on the InCites platform, collates data on highly cited papers and shares it with Web of Science from Clarivate Analytics. These papers sit within the top 1% of each of ESI’s 22 subject areas and are defined as “…this highly cited paper received enough citations to place it in the top 1% of its academic field based on a highly cited threshold for the field and publication year.”

“Recent advances in the understanding of homogeneous dielectric barrier discharges” (Massines et al., 2009), published in EPJ Applied Physics, discusses the physics of homogeneous dielectric barrier discharges at atmospheric pressure along with the mechanisms controlling homogeneity during gas breakdown and discharge development.
