2nd video in EDP Sciences’ masterclass interview series
- Details

Following the interview with Jean Lilensten, Editor in Chief of the Journal of Space Weather and Space Climate, EDP Sciences announce the second video in this series of video interviews supporting the science writing masterclasses. The second video produced is a video interview with Jean-Lou Justine, Editor-in-Chief of Parasite, the official journal of the French Society of Parasitology
Jean-Lou Justine gives his advice to early career researchers, discussing the history of the journal, the nature of articles that are accepted and rejected by the journal, and tips for young researchers wishing to submit an article.
“… It is never a pleasant decision to reject an article, especially when we can see that the author has worked hard,” explains Jean-Lou Justine in the interview. “The best reviewers are those who make an effort to help the authors, by giving them tips or leads, to help them improve their manuscript.”
Jean-Lou Justine works as a Professor of Parasitology at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle , and has been EiC for both Mémoires du Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle and Zoosystema before joining Parasite in 2013. He has published over 500 articles since his research career began in 1978, focusing on parasite biodiversity in coral reefs, systematics and phylogeny of Monogenea, invasive land planarians and much more.
