Astronomy & Astrophysics (A&A), a leading international journal dedicated to the dissemination of original research across the broad spectrum of astronomical and astrophysical disciplines, is pleased to announce the appointment of three new associate editors to its editorial board: Vasiliki Pavlidou, Andreas Koch-Hansen, and Eva Schinnerer.

Vasiliki Pavlidou has commenced her role, bringing a wealth of experience from her position as a Professor of Theoretical Astrophysics at the University of Crete. Her research interests include cosmology, multi-messenger high-energy astrophysics, the physics of the interstellar medium, astrostatistics and astronomical polarimetry. Pavlidou earned her PhD in Astronomy from the University of Illinois and has been honoured with several prestigious fellowships. Pavlidou joined the University of Crete's Physics Department in 2012 and has chaired the RoboPol Collaboration since 2013. She is also a founding member of the PASIPHAE Collaboration and a recipient of the 2014 "L’Oreal-UNESCO Award for Women in Science".

Andreas Koch-Hansen commenced his editorial duties on September 1st. He is an Apl. Professor (extraordinary) at the Center for Astronomy at Heidelberg University. His research interests cover the chemical evolution of star clusters to galaxy evolution and morphology, Koch-Hansen has been an integral part of large-scale surveys like 4MOST and HERON. Since obtaining his PhD from Basel University, Andreas has held a number of positions in academia across the US and the UK before securing his permanent role in Heidelberg in 2017. His vast experience will be instrumental in overseeing papers related to stellar populations.

Eva Schinnerer will join the A&A editorial team on October 1st, bringing her expertise as a senior staff scientist leading a research group on Extragalactic Star Formation at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy(MPIA) in Heidelberg, Germany. Her research focuses on understanding the physical processes that lead to molecular gas and star formation in galaxies and how these evolve with cosmic time by combining observations across the electromagnetic spectrum. With a PhD from Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität München, Schinnerer has held prestigious positions such as a postdoctoral scholarship at Caltech and a Jansky Fellowship at NRAO. Her most notable projects include her leadership of the PHANGS collaboration and her involvement in the COSMOS collaboration where she studies molecular gas and star formation in nearby and distant galaxies. Schinnerer's rich background will be invaluable as she assumes her role as editor this autumn.

A&A continues to strengthen its editorial board with such key appointments, reaffirming its commitment to uphold the highest standards of scientific rigour and integrity in astronomical publications.
