Paris, France 31 March 2020: In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, as a publisher which has always put the academic community at the forefront of everything we do, we have decided to open our journals content from 2018-2020 so it is freely available for all to read*.

The Board of the European Acoustics Association, led by its President Manell E. Zakharia, is glad to announce the appointment of a new Editor in Chief to its journal “Acta Acustica”. Starting 1 May 2020, Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr. techn. Dr. h.c. Manfred Kaltenbacher will lead the journal.

We would like to draw your attention to a call for papers for a special issue to be published in the journal, Mathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena (MMNP). The open access special issue will address “Coronavirus: scientific insights and societal aspects” and, in view of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, will be editorially reviewed for quick publication.

EPJ N is pleased to introduce the first free article in its ‘Key Summaries’ series. This ‘Key Summary’ offers an easy to understand description of the topical issue “Progress in the Science and Technology of Nuclear Reactors using Molten Salts” published in EPJ N. The special issue is guest edited by Jan L. Kloosterman, Elsa Merle, and Jean Ragusa and features 10 articles investigating a reactor type that could make nuclear fission both safer and cleaner.

EPJ Nuclear Sciences & Technologies (EPJ N) is pleased to announce the completion of the topical issue, “Progress in the Science and Technology of Nuclear Reactors using Molten Salts”, guest edited by Jan Leen Kloosterman (TU Delft), Elsa Merle (LPSC-IN2P3-CNRS, UJF, Grenoble INP) and Jean Ragusa (Texas A&M University). The two remaining articles and editorial have been published open access bringing the topical issue to a close.

Paris, France, 5 March 2020: EDP Sciences is delighted to announce the implementation of Subscribe to Open (S2O) as a pilot open access (OA) programme in 2020 for Mathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena (MMNP). MMNP is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing multi-disciplinary content on mathematical modelling.

In January 2020, the Université de Savoie Mont Blanc joined the EDP Sciences national open access agreement in France, becoming the 69th member institution among a host of other leading organisations.

Last June, it gave us great pleasure to announce that EDP Sciences and the European Acoustics Association (EAA) had agreed to publish Acta Acustica (formerly Acta Acustica united with Acustica) in partnership from January 2020. At the time, we also announced that the journal would become fully gold open access from January 2020. Now, with the publication of its first editorial, and with four more articles accepted for publication, we are delighted to announce that Acta Acustica is live.
