CNPIEC to distribute EDP content to institutions throughout China
Paris, France 25 August 2016. EDP Sciences has today signed an agreement in Beijing with China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation (CNPIEC) for distribution of their content to institutions throughout China on their digital platform CNPeReading. CNPIEC is the leading distributor of print publications, e-books and e-journals in China and they also organize the Beijing International Book Fair, the largest trade show in Asia.

Surgery and Medical Technologies, an open access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality papers that describe original research and innovation in all areas of medical technologies in relation to surgery. The journal will use EDP’s Liberty APC model for article processing charges, where authors can choose their own fair price to publish a paper in open access including an amount of 0€.

EDP Sciences has announced that it is now publishing the fully Open Access journal, Regenerative Medicine Research. EDP officially took over publication of the journal during spring 2016. The first issue published by EDP Sciences will be opened in the second semester of 2016, publishing the articles newly submitted and accepted since the journal transfer.

It is with great sadness that we learnt the death of Michel Héritier on April 11th, 2016.
Professor to the University Paris-Sud, researcher at the Laboratory of Physics of Solids – Orsay and formerly, Director of the laboratory, Michel Héritier brought a remarkable contribution in the Condensed Matter Physics and, particularly in the analysis phase transitions in Condensed Matter.

Astronomy and Astrophysics (A&A) Journal and EDP Sciences are pleased to announce the launch of Writing Studio, a unique collaborative writing LaTex solution designed to simplify the process of writing an article collaboratively on a single version of a paper. Reinforcing an open-source strategy, EDP Sciences has chosen the Open Source ShareLateX to develop this new service.

EDP Sciences presents a new model where the author chooses their own fair price to publish an article in Open Access (OA).
The Liberty APC model means that authors can choose from a number of options, the level of article processing charge (APC) they will pay to publish their article - including an amount of 0€ in 2016. It is expected that they will investigate all options for funding, for example from their funding body, their institution or their organization, but ultimately it will be their decision how much they feel is a fair price to pay.
