Paris, October 23 2025. EDP Sciences joins the global research community in celebrating International Open Access Week, this year themed “Who Owns Our Knowledge?”. The question feels especially timely in light of Cambridge University Press’s recent Publishing Futures 2025 report, which warns that academic publishing is “at a critical juncture” and calls for collective action to build a more open, equitable, and sustainable research ecosystem.

EDP Sciences has updated its policy on Artificial Intelligence and Ethics, setting out clear principles for the responsible use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies across all stages of the publishing process.

Paris, France, 24 September 2025. In the 2024 edition of the Journal Citation Reports™ released by Clarivate in June, Astronomy & Astrophysics (A&A) received an Impact Factor of 5.8, placing it firmly at the head of the leading journals for original research in astronomy and astrophysics. We were pleased with this result, and are even more pleased to report that, after one of our community members identified missing citations from the highly-cited Gaia Data Release 3 article and raised the issue with the Editors, Clarivate reviewed the record at the request of the publisher, EDP Sciences, and corrected the calculation. A&A’s Impact Factor is now 6.1, and this corrected figure will be formally reflected in the October reload of the JCR.

EDP Sciences is pleased to share the progress of our journals in the recently announced 2024 Journal Citation Reports™ and CiteScores. This year’s results show consistent improvement across the portfolio, with several journals recording substantial growth. In addition to strong performances in established disciplines such as astronomy and mathematics, titles in applied science, engineering, and health also received encouraging increases.

We are pleased to announce that EPJ Applied Physics (EPJ-AP) has successfully transitioned from the MMS submission system to NESTOR (New Editorial System Tool for Research), an editorial platform developed in-house by EDP Sciences to meet the evolving needs of the scientific publishing community.
