We are delighted to announce that the European Optical Society (EOS) has chosen EDP Sciences as its new publishing partner for its peer-reviewed Journal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications (JEOS-RP). From 1 January 2022, JEOS-RP is included in the journals portfolio and the first articles are in production. Sergei Popov, Editor-in-Chief, leads the journal and is ably supported by his Co-Editors Riad Haidar, Gerd Leuchs and Sergei Turitsyn as well as an expert, international Editorial Board.

The European Optical Society (EOS) is a non-profit society and an umbrella organization for the national optical learned societies around Europe. Its mission is to encourage the cooperation of all parties with an interest in optics and photonics. JEOS-RP is its open access journal which provides high-quality communications that report on the latest findings and important achievements in optics and photonics. These include emerging technologies and strategic goals. It covers both fundamental and applied topics and, as its name suggests, strives for the shortest possible publication time.

EOS members, including members of the national optical societies, receive a substantial discount on article processing charges (APCs) to publish in JEOS-RP. The journal has a good impact factor (2020 Impact Factor: 1.528) and consistently produces very high quality content. It is popular with authors, in large part, thanks to:

-Open access

-Fair APCs

-Fast publication times – articles are published online within 3 days of acceptance (“Accepted Manuscripts”)

“It was imperative for us to work with an established learned society publisher, an experienced open access publisher and a specialist in our subject area,” commented Sergei Popov, Editor-in-Chief, JEOS-RP. “EDP Sciences amply fulfils these requirements and we look forward to developing JEOS-RP together.”

“It is our pleasure to welcome JEOS-RP to EDP Sciences and to develop a closer relationship with the EOS for which we recently published its EOSAM 2021 conference proceedings,” said Agnès Henri, Managing Director, EDP Sciences. “We already enjoy a close relationship with the Société Française d’Optique and look forward to doing the same with some of the other EOS national optical societies through JEOS-RP.”

Stay up to date with new articles as they are published by signing up for free email-alerts on the JEOS-RP website. The instructions for authors are also available as are Accepted Manuscripts and Industrial White Papers.
