EDP Sciences was delighted to welcome early career researchers to a two part Masterclass on scientific writing taking place during the EPS Forum in Berlin from 25 to 27 March.
Part I - “Understanding scientific journal publishing”- led by Isabelle Auffret-Babak, sponsored by EPJ. This part consisted of presentations focusing on how journals are managed, the challenges of peer review, the role of the Editors and how young scientists could contribute.
Part II – “How to write effective titles and abstracts” - led by Anne Ruimy, sponsored by EPL. This part was in the format of a practical workshop reviewing real examples of unpublished abstracts shared by registered participants.
“Since 2019, EDP Sciences has been offering Science Publishing Masterclasses, and we are glad to count The EPS Forum among our partners, alongside leading universities and conferences,” commented Anne Ruimy. “It's a pleasure to share my expertise and insights with young researchers. Hopefully, this masterclass provided them with an overview of the publishing process and will aid them in their research projects“, added Isabelle Auffret-Babak.
The Masterclass on Scientific Writing at the EPS Forum was organized by publishing experts at EDP Sciences and Springer Nature in collaboration with the EPS Young Minds. The Masterclass was facilitated by Isabelle Auffret-Babak (Executive Publisher at EDP Sciences), Christian Caron (Executive Publisher at Springer Nature), Sabine Lehr (Associate Publisher at Springer Nature), Anne Ruimy (Publishing Director Journals at EDP Sciences), and Christian Beck (Professor at Queen Mary University of London).
